Good day students, parents and caregivers. 

 

For Monday, February 23, 2026, in the event that NYC Mayor, Zohran Mamdani and NYC Public Schools Chancellor, Kamar H. Samuels, designate a Remote School Day due to hazardous weather conditions, please follow these instructions below:

 

SITHS Remote School Day Protocol for SITHS

 
  • ASSIGNMENTS: Asynchronous (self guided) work will be posted by teachers for all scheduled periods for Monday, February 23rd to the respective Google Classroom for each class.
 
  • LIVE ZOOM / MEET: A teacher, at their discretion, may also choose to meet synchronously (live) via Zoom or Google Meet at the designated time of the scheduled class according to the standard bell schedule below. The teacher will post instructions for Monday, February 23rd on the Google classroom ahead of time before the start of the school day on Monday, if there is an expectation for synchronous instruction. Please see the schedule below:

  • ATTENDANCE FOR THE DAY: During Period 3, students must go to their Period 3 Google Classroom and complete the attendance question/form (example: “I am marking myself present for Monday, February 23rd.”) Students have until 9:30 AM to submit their attendance. If students do not submit it by 9:30 AM, they will be marked ABSENT.
 
  • REPORTING AN ABSENCE: If a student will be absent for remote instruction on this day, families should please continue to follow the protocol for reporting an absence by using the Absence Reporting form.
 
  • EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES CANCELED: All scheduled afterschool activities, including PSAL practices or games will be canceled for Monday, February 23.
 
  • NEED SUPPORT / GUIDANCE COUNSELOR: If a student needs to reach out to their Guidance Counselor / Social worker during the Remote Day, please use the the STAY IN TOUCH reference on the bit.ly/SITHSLandingPage to look up the respective Guidance Counselor or Assistant Principal.
