FALL SPORTS ATHLETIC DIRECTOR MESSAGE
Now is the time for you to think about Fall sport and what you’re going to do every day at 3pm. Do you go home every day or are you taking advantage of the activities high school has to offer?
The MSIT athletic program gives you an opportunity to participate in a variety of competitive sports teams while getting in shape, creating lifetime friendships as well as building your resume for college.
As they say, “time waits for no one”. It is up to you to find out when and where the sport “I am interested in” begins. Using the contact list below. Find the spring sport you are interested in. Email the coach and ask when and where the team will be meeting. Let the coach know you are interested.
What do I need to participate? You’ll need a current PSAL medical that clears you for physical activity as well as a parental consent and covid testing authorization. Utilize the link to retrieve all of your required forms for participation.
If you have questions, speak or email Mr. McCarthy, Athletic Director ([email protected]) at SI Tech in Room 154, or see Ms. Falkenhainer ([email protected]) in Room 321 at McKee.
** Notes a competitive Team with limited spots and requires a try out.
*** Notes a Fall Team that starts in August before the first day of school.
If you plan to try out for a team, it is imperative you complete the Interscholastic Athletics Parental Consent Form AND a PSAL Pre-Participation Physical Exam Form. Both of these forms can be acquired from https://www.psal.org/articles/article-detail_sp.aspx?21954 .Both will be requested by the coach of the team you are trying out for (keep a copy of your medical). Keep copies and submit the original to the coach.
How do I tryout for a team?
- Reach out to the coach and ask when and where tryouts are.
- Have my completed medical and parental consent forms ready to submit to the coach.
- Attend tryouts with the understanding that the coach is creating a team to compete against other schools based upon your athletic ability, commitment to the team, ability to attend all team events and meet the academic attendance requirements.
