Near Peer Career Virtual Panel Series Virtual Event 11/2/20
The Near Peer Career Virtual Panel Series kicks off on November 2nd, 11am-12pm with Vessel Operations.
This seven-part webinar series introduces middle and high school students to New York Harbor School alumni and industry professionals in the marine technology and science fields. These panels will give students the opportunity to learn from a diverse group of individuals who are currently studying, exploring, and working in fields related to the following Career and Technical Education programs: Aquaculture, Marine Biology Research, Marine Systems Technology, Marine Policy & Environmental Advocacy, Ocean Engineering, Professional Diving, and Vessel Operations.
The first panel focuses on Vessel Operations, and will include panelists with experience ranging from Military Sealift Command to Maritime Education to Historic Tall Ships and more! The panel discussion will be moderated by current students in the Vessel Operations CTE Program at the Urban Assembly New York Harbor School.
We encourage interactivity so this panel will include a live Q & A section for students.
NOTE: This event takes place during school hours. You may NOT miss class to attend. You may only attend if you have a free period(s) during the time of the event. This will NOT be an excused absence.
