The DOB Next Gen program (formerly known as the Youth Leadership Councils) is now accepting applications for Fall 2025.
This free, in-person program introduces NYC high school students to fields such as architecture, engineering, construction, sustainability, inspections, and public policy. The program meets on Wednesdays from October to December 2025 from 4:15-6:15pm in our Department of Buildings’ Headquarters at 280 Broadway, NY, NY 10007.
Over the course of the program, students will learn directly from DOB professionals, collaborate on research and design projects, and create a building model or rendering to showcase their ideas. The program concludes with a final presentation and all participants who complete the program will receive a certificate of achievement as members of the Fall 2025 cohort.
