Girls Inc - Stem Series - Virtual Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, Girls Inc of New York City's G3 Data Analytics program invites your High School girls and gender expansive students to participate in our Virtual Black History Month STEM Series, where we explore the power of data in social justice. Through these virtual interactive workshops, students will engage in critical discussions and hands-on learning around:

• Black Women and the Right to Vote – Examining historical and present-day voter suppression through data.
• The Environmental Justice Movement – Understanding environmental racism and activism using data analysis.
• The Color of Race – Exploring how data shapes narratives about race in society.
• Data & Social Media: Using Data for Social Justice – Learning how data can drive meaningful change in communities.

Register using link below.

This series provides an opportunity for students to develop critical thinking and analytical skills while connecting with real-world social justice issues through the lens of STEM.

This is also an opportunity for students to gain extra credit for their classes and community service hours. Students who attend will receive a certificate of completion.

We’d love for your High School girls and gender expansive students to join us! Please share this opportunity with your network, and feel free to reach out with any questions.
