Summer Neuroscience Program (SNP) at Rockefeller University

Now in its 15th year, SNP introduces NYC public high schoolers to the wonders of cutting-edge neuroscience. For two weeks in the summer, we bring students to the Rockefeller University campus (all expenses paid) for a course of highly interactive lectures, activities, and experiments led by practicing scientists. Our goal is to give students a memorable summer experience that gets them excited and confident about science and research. SNP is aimed as an introduction to research science, and we encourage students with otherwise limited opportunities to explore their scientific interests to apply.

Applicants must be current sophomores or juniors that attend a NYC public school. We seek motivated, mature, and inquisitive students, irrespective of previous scholastic achievement or experience with science.  We don’t necessarily look for “straight A” students, but rather those who flourish when allowed to exercise their creativity, curiosity, and independence. We encourage applications from high-need schools where students may have more limited opportunities to pursue their interest in science.

There are 2 ways to help us find students for SNP!

1. Fill out a reference on our website to recommend students (students will need to submit an application of their own)

2. Forward this message to teachers, principals, guidance counselors and other educators in your community

To find our application forms, or to learn more about SNP, please visit:

The 2023 deadline for both student applications and teacher references is 11:59 PM, Sunday, March 12th. We look forward to your submissions, and please let us know if you have any questions!

THANK YOU!
