Virtual Open House Registration / SHSAT / Admissions Information

2021 SHSAT TESTING DATES & LOCATIONS:

Staten Island Technical High School is one of NYC’s eight Specialized High Schools, which utilizes the SHSAT (Specialized High School Admissions Test). The SHSAT is administered to 8th and 9th graders only. You can learn more about Specialized High Schools and the SHSAT, as well as the admissions process via each of the hyperlinks in this email.


SITHS VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE REGISTRATION:

For the 2021-22 school year, due to COVID restrictions there will only be a LIVE Virtual Open House scheduled for Wednesday, November 3rd from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM.


USING THIS LINK … you can register to attend our open house and provide us with your contact information. We will use this information to email you your Open House login information approximately one to two days before the event.


Please continue to check our home page (www.siths.org) to keep up-to-date with the latest admissions info, which will be updated weekly. In the meantime you can access the self-guided VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE button (also on our homepage), which provides an interactive and informative virtual overview of our school.

2021 SHSAT TESTING DATES & LOCATIONS:

  • Registered 8th grade students who attend a public DOE middle school: Will test at their current school during the school day on Thursday, December 2.
  • Registered 8th grade students who attend charter, private, parochial, or independent schools, or who are homeschooled: Will test at a central DOE location on Sunday, December 5, or Saturday, December 11.
  • All registered 9th grade students: will test at a central DOE location on Saturday, December 11 or Sunday, December 12.

SHSAT REGISTRATION:

Registration is now open for the SHSAT, and the deadline to register is November 15, 2021. Registration is not first-come first-served; all students who register by the deadline will be able to take the SHSAT. 

  • Families will be able to register their child in the family-facing MySchools site (myschools.nyc).
  • Like last year, families or school staff will indicate each child’s preference order for the testing Specialized High Schools when they submit their SHSAT registration in MySchools.
  • The deadline to register for the SHSAT is November 15, 2021.
