Doodle 4 Google Competition
Google is holding their annual Doodle 4 Google, a competition where students unleash their artistic will on Google's logo. Staten Island Tech will be participating in this contest, and is asking any artistically-inclined students to submit their own custom Google logo for submission to the contest. Dear students, "If I could do anything in the world, I would..." …Figure out a cure for cancer …Build a movie theater on the moon …Be an underwater explorer There are many different prizes ranging from netbook computers to a grand prize $15,000 scholarship. Even if you don't consider yourself an artist, this is not a opportunity worth passing up. Just draw your logo on an 8 1/2" by 11" piece of paper, and hand it in to Mr. Erlenwein (room 219). On a separate paper, include your name, third period class, the title of your doodle, and a less than fifty word statement answering the theme question, "If I could do anything in the world, I would...". All drawings must be submitted by the end of February. Six drawings will be selected to represent the school in the competition. Important: Google gives full size print outs of their logo in full color and 3D, flat color, semi-transparent, solid outlined, and a dotted outline as a guideline for what the Google logo looks like should your doodle win and be posted on Google's homepage. You must use them. They can be downloaded at http://www.google.com/doodle4google/2010/files/DoodleForGoogle_Templates.pdf, and PDF copies will be attached to this e-mail. Those looking for inspiration can browser around some examples at http://www.google.com/doodle4google/doodler.html. Last but not least, those planning to participate must return a parent consent form to Mr. Erlenwein with their submission. The consent form can be downloaded from http://www.google.com/doodle4google/2010/files/Doodle4Google_ConsentRules_2010.pdf.
