				<title><![CDATA[5 Tech Students Awarded ACE Scholarships For College]]></title>

					<description><![CDATA[Last Spring 5 Staten Island Tech students were awarded $15,500 in scholarships for college as part of the participation in the Architecture Construction & Engineering (ACE) program of Greater NY (https://www.acementorny.org/).  Students who were awarded these scholarships will receive them over their four years of college. 
 
The students truly went above and beyond to stay active in the program during remote programming due to COVID. Congratulations to Karen Choi, Kelly Yu, Colleen Wang, Jiayu Chen, Alan Zeltser on their great work.]]></description>

Annalise Knudson from SI Live visited the Tech Makerspace and interviewed innovative tech students Aiden Lublinsky and Tian Lin, in addition to several others, on projects they’ve been working on in our school’s versatile lab. Projects include contraptions such as bionic arms that can lift up to 180 lbs, an award-winning ergonomic keyboard, and our school’s impressive fully-functional solar powered car.]]></description>

					<description><![CDATA[Staten Island Solar Team with their second place trophy.
Staten Island’s successful solar car team was featured on the National Grid Foundation’s Destiny newsletter and website home page. The team snagged second place in the national competition last summer, in a race that spanned from Texas to California. Numerous students from various Staten Island schools make up the award-winning team, which is based in Staten Island Tech’s high-end makerspace lab. The team will continue to compete and improve the solar car’s design in the future.]]></description>

They raised money with this creative project for the American Cancer Society to help aid research and assistance for those suffering from cancer.
