The Tech Horizon: Inside Tech

The Tech Seagulls Are Migrating to Florida! Plans for the Senior Trip -by Joe Zarrella

From Friday, February 12th to Tuesday the 16th, Disney World’s All Star Music Resort will host a flock of approximately seventy five of Tech’s Senior Seagulls.  The remarkable hotel boasts an assortment of musical luxuries, including two swimming pools in the shape of a guitar and a grand piano, three-story buildings with different musical themes, such as Broadway, Calypso, Jazz, Rock, and Country, and even a lobby adorned with musical notes and instruments.  Accompanied by Mrs. Sanguinedo, Mrs. Grunwald, and their husbands, Mr. Callahan and his wife, as well as Mr. Brayman, these Techies have a fun-filled itinerary planned for their senior trip.

Their first pit stop will be to Animal Kingdom, where an abundance of enormous, endangered, extraordinary animals roam the world of Disney, creating tons of opportunities.  From exhilarating roller coasters to informative adventure trails, Animal Kingdom definitely has something for everyone.

The seniors’ second stop will be to the notorious Magic Kingdom.  The name of the park speaks for itself; it is known by all as the trademark of Disney World.  The Gulls can decide to be invigorated by Space or Splash Mountain or sing along to the catchy melody of the ageless “It’s a Small World.”

Finally, the Techies will head to Universal Studios, where a nearly infinite number of attractions are waiting to be exhausted by the seniors. The Spiderman and the Incredible Hulk roller coasters, the Jurassic Park River Adventure, and the Men In Black Alien Attack, along with several other rides, realistic simulations, and stunt shows exhibit the fascinating variety of options available while at Universal.

Although the excitement and fun of Disney will make for an unforgettable senior trip, planning ahead was necessary for a number of reasons.  For example, students have already made reservations for exotic restaurants at Epcot, eclectic restaurants at Downtown Disney, and unique restaurants of CityWalk at Universal due to the popularity of vacation during President’s Week.  Also, the weather forecast predicts sunny days, but temperatures will only be in the 60’s.  Therefore, packing bikinis, tank tops, or short shorts may not be the best idea.

Together, Disney World and Universal Studios will definitely keep the Gulls entertained with the plethora of attractions that the parks offer.  The senior trip is bound to provide a memorable experience for the Seagulls migrating to Orlando, Florida this Friday.
